I was inspired to explore art after moving to the beautiful south coast of Moruya with my husband and four kids in 2015. I guess when people say, 'nature inspires creativity', it rings very true for me.
I have not been drawing or painting prior. Like many people, I used to believe art is for the talented creatives and I'm simply not one of them. But my mindset shifted over the years, and I realised, like most things, mastery comes from practice.
I tried various forms of painting during the pandemic in 2020. It started as stress relief, but I loved it so much that I kept on painting ever since. In 2023, I enrolled in Milan Art Institute to help me master the foundations of oil and acrylic painting. I'm still studying and I imagine the learning will never end. There are simply too many fun things in art to explore!
Thanks to living in a beautiful part of the world, there are lots of artists reside here too. I have no shortage of mentors when it comes to seeking help with particular art techniques. Nick Summers at Art Central and a dear friend Kim Abdou in particular have helped me so much in my art journey.
My style of art tends to be more on the impressionism side. I love bright colours, bold brush strokes, and rich textures. l particularly enjoy capturing joy and uplifting moods.
Currently I sell my artwork via my social media platforms and local shops - Moruya Health Cafe, Tukka Licenced Cafe at Moruya, and Earthed Jewels and Dreams at Mogo.
There is also a commissioned outdoor mural at Bay Theatre Players on 33 Gregory St, Batemans Bay. Available for public viewing 24/7.
